I've been having a lot of very vivid dreams lately. I usually don't really remember my dreams, so this is odd for me. The dreams have been featuring Oxy people, many who I don't hang out with as often as my gang, but who I see a lot, nonetheless. We are in odd situations that directly relate to mundane aspects of my life, such as going to work (in the bookstore) or such as matters dealing with RHA. Probably the most bizarre dream featured a purplish badger/kangaroo thing that was the size of a human. It was really creepy and it started chasing me. I hid from it and then it laid in the middle of the street on its stomach, looking for me with binoculars. I was trying to get to work, because I was already late. Very weird, and not really frightening thinking about it now, but it really scared me while I was sleeping.
Anyway, other things in my life: I'm somewhat sore from working out with my new weight circuit routine, thanks to my personal trainer. Despite the soreness, it's very enjoyable trying to get in shape. I've only got three papers left in the semester, and I'm hanging on to my motivation by a thread. Must stay focused. Movies coming up: Star Wars Episode III (should arrive TODAY on DVD!!!), Pride and Prejudice on November 11, Harry Potter IV on November 18. Others including Jarhead, Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Rent, Syriana, The Family Stone, Rumour Has It, etc. I got free admission for two to see a special advance screening (two weeks early) of Pride and Prejudice-very excited! I guess I'm kind of on a Jake Gyllenhaal kick (with Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain), because I just got October Sky and was reminded how much I really like that film and him as an actor. Also a Chris Cooper kick, who is in Capote, Jarhead, and Syriana currently, along with a number of other movies I really enjoy. Anyway, back to the rise of the Third Reich, 1950s gender images, and first century Irish and Nordic carvings!!!
